A man died when his van hit a firetruck responding to a false alarm at the Rollins Avenue and Post Road intersection this morning.


Two fireman were hospitalised and authorities have not determined who was at fault.


Damage to the firetruck was estimated at $90,000 while the van involved was destroyed.

Small cars have the worst injury and repair records according to the Highway Loss Data Institute of Canberra.


With injury claim frequencies and repair losses 30 percent higher than average.


Motorist in larger vehicles are 41 percent less likely to be hurt in accidents, with 40 to 50 percent better-than-average claim records.

Hot dogs have been recorded as dangerous with choking causing an estimated death every five days according to the Journal of the Victorian Medical Association.


Children under the age of four are asked by researchers to “never be given a whole hot dog to eat”.


Further food risks for children under nine-years-old include lollies, nuts, grapes, apples, carrots and popcorn.
